2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
I recently posted a picture on social media about not being afraid. I have been dealing with fear a lot lately, and after reading the bible my fear was put to rest. The term “fear not” is referenced in the bible several times. I got to thinking about how significant this is. The fact that God had to reassure His people over and over not to fear, tells one thing. WE ALL HAVE FEARS. What differentiates our fears is how we deal with them. You can either accept them or “fear not”. When I read 2 Timothy 1:7, it told me that fear does not come from God. With that being said, I want you to know that there is no room for fear in your life.
I have been absent from the Praying Girls Rock website for a few weeks, due to other priorities. During this time I had to face my fears head on. A few opportunities came my way and I questioned my ability to do a great job. I was afraid of not only failing myself, but the people involved. I wanted to do my best and show my talents, but the what-ifs were on repeat in my mind.
I knew I had two choices. I could decline the opportunities or I could face my fears. I chose to accept the opportunities, despite my feelings. Fear is a feeling, in the same way that confidence is.
Since you have a choice in how you feel you can choose to be fearless.
You are in charge of your emotions. If there is something that you have always wanted to do, but let fear get in the way; do it.When you are afraid, remember that God has not given you a spirit of fear. It’s time to kick fear out of your life permanently. .
Psalm 56:3 (ESV)
When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.
