Romans 12:2 (ESV)
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
As some of you know, Praying Girls Rock started as a hobby for me to share my experiences and insights that God has given me. Then it became a passion for me to help those who felt lost and hopeless, like I had felt a few years ago. Praying Girls Rock became a community for women who love God wholeheartedly and want to find their purpose. I wanted to create a place where Christian women could grow, pursue their purpose, and encourage one another. I’ve had this blog for almost two years, and after a awhile I lost my passion to write. You may have noticed that I haven’t posted anything in almost two months! I was so busy trying to figure out ways to be a people pleaser, rather than writing about what God put on my heart. I had to ask myself a serious question, “Are you pleasing God or the world?”
A lot of you can relate to this because you may do some things to please people rather than God. Recently I fell victim to this. I wasn’t reading the bible and praying as often as I used to (which is a big reason that I lost my passion for writing). I used to get so many ideas for my business and for blog topics when I had my daily quiet time with God. It was when I was able to unplug from the world. It was just me and God. No interruptions. No people pleasing. No doubts. No fears. I really missed it.
When I finally realized that I was spiritually malnourished, I opened my bible. I read Colossians 2. This chapter reminded me that I don’t need the approval of the world because I am already complete through Christ. This verse really stuck out to me, ” and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority.”(Colossians 2:10) This is a great reminder to us both, that we should be actively pursuing God.
He is head over Everything. When you are feeling torn between pleasing the world and pleasing God, remember this one thing: You are already complete through Christ. He already paid the cost for you to be free from this world.
