When I am about to take on a big challenge I get very anxious. It’s to the point where I am constantly nervous and have scatter brain. You would think that someone who studies the bible and prays daily would have enough confidence to take on any challenge. But I get scared like anyone else. I cry. I have moments of weakness. I get tired. I sometimes feel like giving up. But I know that I can’t. If you can relate to this, then you know that quitting is not an option. It wouldn’t make sense to turn back after you have come so far.
When you feel like quitting remember this: You Can Do It, Because God Said So.
In Romans 8:37 it states, “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” This means that you are not merely a survivor, YOU ARE MORE THAN A CONQUEROR! You are a victor. You don’t stop fighting until you win, because defeat is not an option. Take a moment to think about all of the things that you have conquered. You may have conquered sickness, abuse, bad relationships, financial troubles, school, weight loss, or etc. Be proud of what you have accomplished. God would not have taken you through it if He didn’t think that you could conquer it.
Accept the Challenge.
Whatever God has been calling you to do, do it. I had been getting the nudge to go back to school for a while. I would ignore it and make up excuses as to why it wasn’t the right time. You can’t wait for the perfect time to honor your calling. You have to do it now, because later may not come. When I decided to challenge myself and go back to school I felt relieved. Everything fell into place and I knew I had made the right decision. I felt anxious, but I was more excited than nervous. I can say that it is one of the best decisions that I have ever made.
One Choice Could Lead to the Breakthrough that You Have Been Praying For!
I kept praying for God to open up doors for me and bring new opportunities into my life. My prayers didn’t get answered until I made the decision and took action. Who knows what would have happened if I would have put off going back to school. I could have delayed my breakthrough by years! I want to encourage you to not put off your dreams any longer. There is a reason that God is calling you for a particular assignment.
Take the First Step.
Everything didn’t come together for me until I made the choice to believe in God’s promises. God had already told me that I can do it; it was up to me to believe Him and accept my calling. What are you being called to do? Take out a sheet of paper and write down all of the things that God has been saying to you. This includes what He says to you in prayer, when you read the bible, worship (music), through other Christians, and most importantly your spirit. There are many more ways that God speaks to us. Listen to Him and get ready to conquer your next assignment.
